TerraThane Geotechnical Polymers

ABOUT TERRATHANE POLYMERS - TerraThane™ Geotechnical polymers are a suite of single and two component, closed-celled, rigid polyurethane formulations that are specially developed for Geotechnical applications. Our polymers are designed for optimal flow and expansion for lifting and leveling concrete slabs and structures, filling voids, infrastructure repair, and numerous other civil applications.

HOW DOES IT WORK? - Once injected, the polyurethane is initially in a liquid form that finds the path of least resistance, filling annular voids and saturating loosely compacted soils. The polyurethane then begins to expand and densify, compacting the adjacent soils and sealing joints against inflow and infiltration.

WHAT ARE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF STRUCTURAL POLYMERS? - TerraThane’s rigid structural polyurethanes are inherently environmentally inert. They do not leech chemicals into the environment or adjacent water bodies or groundwater supplies. If the injection areas are near environmentally sensitive environments, TerraThane offers the highest availability of NSF/ANSI 61 safe drinking water compliant polyurethane products in the industry.

HOW DOES TERRATHANE FUNCTION IN WET CONDITIONS? - We offer a wide range of polyurethanes that operate optimally in a variety of soil conditions, from dry arid climates, high altitude locations, and in wet and saturated conditions. The majority of our polyurethanes are hydro-insensitive, meaning they do not absorb water but push water from the injection area. This makes our polymers ideal for stabilizing soils or void filling in areas that have a heavy water presence, as the polyurethanes will displace the water from the structure.

TerraThane™ 24-003 is a 4.0pcf 68psi hydrophobic/hydro-insensitive, MDI-based polymer formula that is specially designed for exceptional flow or spread under concrete structures when water is present. The 24-003 flowability ensures void fill and support before lifting. 24-003 is available with an NSF/ANSI 61 Section 5 – 2017 certification.

TerraThane™ 24-044 is a 3.1pcf 40psi hydro-insensitive, plural component, polymeric MDI based polymer system designed for concrete lifting/leveling, joint matching, void filling and concrete under-sealing in wet environments. 24- 044 has been specially formulated for exceptional flow under concrete road or slab section(s)

TerraThane™ 24-024 is a 2.3pcf 33psi hydrophobic/ hydro-insensitive, two-component, HFC-245fa blown, all PMDI-based, formula that is specially designed for quick expansion and pinpoint control for structural lifting and leveling. Due to its fast reaction and physical properties, it is highly versatile for many diverse applications.

TerraThane™ 24-010 is a 2.8ccf 26psi (free rise) water blown, all PMDI based geotechnical polyurethane designed for quick expansion and pinpoint control for structural lifting and leveling. 24-010 is available with an NSF/ANSI 61 Section 5 – 2017 certification.

TerraThane™ 24-023 is a 2.3pcf 43 psi (sprayed) two-component, water and HFC-245fa co-blown, low-density, low exotherm polyurethane system designed for use as a void fill or trench-break material. NCFI 24- 023 has been formulated to process at 2.0–2.2 pcf depending on lift thickness without scorching or splitting.

TerraThane™24-070 is a 2.1pcf 31psi two-component, HF0 blown, low GWP, all PMDI based, pour-in-place urethane rigid foam system. 24-070 is a low-exotherm system with slow reactivity for greater flow. The system is ideal for filling large void areas, pipe abandonment, and underground tank abandonment.

TerraThane™ 24-042 is a 5.0pcf 65 psi (restrained) water blown, all PMDI-based, hydro-insensitive geotechnical polyurethane designed for soil stabilization, road bed construction, deep hole injection, and void-filling applications. The polymer is specially formulated for exceptional flow and functionality in saturated environments and available with an NSF/ANSI 61 Section 5 – 2017 certification.

TerraThane 24-015 is a low viscosity, polyurethane injection resin designed to stabilize soil When mixed with catalyst and injected, it migrates through loose soil and into below-grade voids. As it comes into contact with moisture, NCFI 24-015 reacts and expands to form a rigid foam wit up to 1100psi compression strength in sand.

Terra-Lok™ 24-120 is a low viscosity single component hydrophobic polymer used for increasing the load bearing capacity of loosely bound soils, filling voids and I/I mitigation. Ideal for stopping active or flowing water leaks and eliminating water seepage through cracks in stationary concrete structures and assets. 24-120 is available with an NSF/ANSI 61 Section 5 - 2017 certification."
